The dry waxed canvas has that same sturdy feel as my field jacket, and it shrugs off light rain without soaking through. The brim is stiff enough to stay put in wind but doesn't feel bulky. Two months in and it's already molded to my head.

Wore this through a misty morning walk and the waxed canvas shed the damp without soaking through at all. The brim holds its shape nicely too, no flopping down in the wind.

Got caught in a drizzle walking the dog and the water just beaded right off the waxed canvas instead of soaking through. The brim is stiff enough to actually keep rain off my glasses, which is more than I can say for my old ball cap.
